Decline to give dollars, yet invite them to Breakthrough for a free meal and support. Our physical address is 1010 N Main. Wichita has an ordinance against panhandling. Have a hygiene or blessing bag on hand when driving in Wichita.
Breakthrough programs focus on the circumstances of poverty and mental illness but do not address abuse directly. For individuals who are vulnerable to mismanagement of their finances and/or benefit payments, we offer structure and support through our Representative Payee program. Feel free to contact us at reppay@breakthroughwichita.org to provide specifics of the situation and we’ll let you know if we can help or point you in the right direction.
We have a small food pantry for participants in our poverty programs. If interested, please inquire at the reception desk. We serve a free breakfast meal Monday through Friday beginning at 8:15 a.m. You can find other food pantry resources in the community by dialing 2-1-1.
Each breakfast meal is open to the public, Monday through Friday. We serve between 8:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and no I.D. is required to dine. Clubhouse members and staff prepare and serve lunch for members, volunteers and staff, but lunch is not a public meal.
Monday through Friday, the clubhouse is open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday evenings frequently have scheduled social gatherings. The clubhouse is open each holiday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. If you have questions about when the clubhouse will be open, feel free to call 316-269-2534.
No, we are unable to do so. You can find other community resources by calling 2-1-1 or searching their Resource Directory HERE.
We encourage individuals to start with a tour of Breakthrough and the Clubhouse. This is easiest if that person has someone to come with them. New groups and places can be intimidating, but the clubhouse understands this and can help. Please contact us to arrange a tour at info@breakthroughwichita.org.

Expressing Faith Through Service
In every faith community, there is a strong desire to live out one’s faith in a tangible, helpful way. People want to be part of something life-giving and meaningful for the poor and mentally ill in our community.
- Attend a Kindness in Action tour
The Kindness In Action tour is an opportunity to be immersed in our daily programming, share in a hosted lunch forum, and tour our facilities – all over the noon hour. We’ve scheduled 20 open tours in 2019. Reserve your seat and join us for a conversation at our ‘house’. The tours are especially helpful if you’re looking for a place to volunteer and would like to learn more before making a decision.
