A Time to Give Thanks

Hold on to your cornucopia, because it’s time to party like it’s 1621. November 24 is Thanksgiving, so take this holiday season to reflect on all the reasons you have to be thankful. Use your time off of work to sit back and appreciate everything that makes you grateful in your life. And while you’re at it, help give somebody else something to be thankful for.

Make a List
It may sound like something you did when you were in grade school, but jotting down a list of things you’re thankful for can really put life into perspective. By highlighting those things that you appreciate, you’ll be reminded to make those a priority. This can also help you evaluate the stuff that’s been keeping you down, helping you focus on those activities that will lead to a happier you.

Kick Back
It’s not often that you get some time off from your job and your normal hectic schedule. So sit back, relax and enjoy the time you’ll share with your loved ones. Share in some holiday traditions or if you’re lacking of Thanksgiving ritual, have fun together creating some. While the time off may be a good time to catch up on a few chores, don’t forget to take some time for yourself this weekend and just relax.

Spread the Thanks
While you’re feasting on your Thanksgiving dinner, keep in mind that not everyone may be fortunate enough to have a feast. Help give others something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. There are a variety of ways you can help, from making material donations to volunteering your time. Take up a community collection to your local food bank, or volunteer to serve food at a soup kitchen this Thanksgiving. You’ll feel great about helping out, and you’ll in turn give somebody else a reason to be grateful.
